To book at Kei, the only route is the online form on restaurant-kei.fr, which opens on the first Tuesday of every month at exactly 9:30 am for the two following calendar months. Load the booking page the evening before, return at 9:28 am on the opening day, and submit your request without hesitation: slots disappear within minutes.

Kei Kobayashi is the first Japanese chef to earn three Michelin stars in France, a distinction achieved in 2020 and confirmed in the 2026 guide. His table on rue Coq Héron in the 1st arrondissement seats only around 20 covers per service. The restaurant opens just four days a week — Tuesday and Wednesday for dinner, Friday and Saturday for lunch and dinner — which concentrates demand even further. Cancellations are rare: the penalty is €300 per cover at lunch and €400 at dinner for cancellations less than 48 hours before service. When a slot does reappear, it is often within the 24–72 hours before service — Le Dernier Couvert alerts you the moment one does.

Tips to get a table

  1. Set a calendar alarm for the first Tuesday of each month at 9:25 am: load restaurant-kei.fr/en/pages/reserver-1 before 9:30 am, fill in your details in advance, and submit the moment the form activates. Every minute counts.
  2. Friday or Saturday lunch is the most accessible service: the only midday sitting, with the Découverte menu at €195 — the lowest entry price on the menu. All evening services sell out significantly faster.
  3. A table for two is the easiest to request; conversely, an odd party size (3 or 5) may reappear when everything else seems full, as partially cancelled group bookings leave atypical configurations.
  4. Cancellations are rare but real — and when they happen, they are close to service. Activate a Le Dernier Couvert alert: that short window is the only realistic route outside the monthly opening.
  5. The restaurant is closed Monday, Thursday, and Sunday, and partially in August. Verify exceptional closures on the website before planning your opening-day attempt.
